Why?  to advance Africa’s Science, Technology and Innovation priorities under STISA‑2034—the African Union’s flagship strategy for driving socio‑economic transformation through research and innovation. 
When? Deadline for expressions of interest: September 25, 2026 (23:59 EDT) 
Who?  This opportunity targets: 

• African universities, public research organizations, and government research institutions in 20 African countries 

• Multi-country consortia (3-5 institutions from 3 different SGCI countries) 

• Researchers working in interdisciplinary and policy-relevant areas 

• Teams with the capacity to manage funding and deliver impact at scale
