NRF Showcases Research Projects at 2026 Mashujaa Day Thematic Week Celebrations
The National Research Fund (NRF) showcased selected research projects it supports at the 2026 Mashujaa Day Thematic Week Celebrations exhibition held at The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) in Uasin Gishu County from 13 to 19 October 2026.
The exhibition formed part of the celebrations held under the theme “Security, Sports and the Economy,” convened by the counties of Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Nandi. The week brought together government institutions and agencies to showcase their work across different sectors.
Through the exhibition, NRF presented selected research projects supported through its funding, bringing the work of researchers into a public-facing setting. The displays offered an opportunity to highlight the research undertaken with the Fund’s support and demonstrate how NRF’s mandate extends beyond funding to the advancement of research and innovation in Kenya.

Showcasing funded projects also provided a way to connect NRF’s institutional role with the work being carried out by researchers and institutions. By presenting examples of supported research, the Fund highlighted the importance of research in generating knowledge and informing responses to challenges relevant to the country’s development.
The exhibition provided a platform for NRF to communicate its work alongside other public institutions and agencies. Such engagement is important in making research more visible outside academic and professional settings and in strengthening public understanding of the role research funding plays in supporting Kenya’s research and innovation ecosystem.

NRF’s participation at the Mashujaa Day Thematic Week exhibition underscores the importance of bringing funded research into public spaces and communicating the work supported by the Fund to wider audiences. Continued engagement through exhibitions and other outreach platforms can help strengthen the visibility of research and innovation and highlight their place in national development.
