NRF Participates in the 2025 Mombasa ASK Show
The National Research Fund (NRF) was among the exhibitors at the 2025 Mombasa International Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show, held from September 1st to 7th at the Mkomani Showground in Mombasa.
This year’s show was officially opened by H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya under the theme:
“Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
Showcasing Research and Innovation

The ASK Show provided NRF with an excellent platform to highlight its mandate, share information on research funding opportunities, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders including researchers, universities, innovators, and government institutions.
At the NRF booth, visitors accessed information materials, interacted with officers, and learned more about how research is driving Kenya’s sustainable development agenda.
Learning and Collaboration
Beyond the exhibition booth, NRF CEO Prof. Dickson Andala and the team visited other stands, engaging with exhibitors from a variety of sectors. The interactions opened new avenues for collaboration and emphasized the value of cross-sector partnerships in advancing innovation.

Key Highlights
NRF’s participation achieved several outcomes, including:
- Enhanced visibility of the Fund and its programs.
- Strengthened stakeholder connections in research, academia, and industry.
- Increased awareness of opportunities for research funding and support.
- Valuable insights that will inform preparations for the Kenya National Research Festival (KNRF) 2026.
Way Forward
Building on the momentum from the Mombasa ASK Show, NRF will continue to participate in similar regional and national forums. Such platforms remain vital for promoting research, expanding networks, and positioning NRF as a connector between researchers, industry, and government.
