NRF Showcases Research and Innovation at the ASK Mombasa Show 2026

The National Research Fund (NRF) participated in the ASK Mombasa Show 2026, held under the theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.”

Through the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation exhibition stand, NRF showcased its investments in research and highlighted how science, technology and innovation can contribute to food security, climate resilience, livelihoods and sustainable economic growth.

The exhibition provided an opportunity for researchers, innovators, farmers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and members of the public to engage with research and innovation and explore pathways for translating research into practical solutions and commercial opportunities.

Officially opening the Show, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, underscored the importance of data-driven and evidence-based agriculture, highlighting technologies such as mechanisation, drones and artificial intelligence as key enablers of transformation.

The State Department for Science, Research and Innovation emerged as the winner of the Best Display and Services in the Health Sector and Pharmaceutical Stand category, recognising the quality of its exhibition and engagement during the Show.

NRF’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to investing in research that addresses Kenya’s development priorities and strengthening pathways for research uptake and innovation-driven impact.
