Championing Research for Resilient Food Systems: NRF Engages at FINAS 2025

The National Research Fund (NRF) supported and participated in the Financing Agri-Food Systems Sustainably (FINAS) 2025 Summit, held from May 20–22 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. The summit convened global leaders, policymakers, financiers, and stakeholders to address sustainable financing in Africa’s agri-food systems under the theme, “Taking Ownership: Rethinking Sustainable Financing for Africa’s Food Systems.”

As an exhibitor, NRF showcased groundbreaking research initiatives and innovations aligned with the summit’s key focus areas, including inclusive finance, digital transformation, and climate-resilient agriculture. The Fund’s exhibition highlighted how research-backed solutions can bridge financing gaps, empower smallholder farmers, and drive sustainable development.

By supporting and engaging in FINAS 2025, NRF reaffirmed its commitment to enabling research that informs policy, enhances transparency, and promotes economic empowerment. Through active stakeholder engagement, NRF emphasized the pivotal role of research in shaping inclusive, evidence-based financial policies and advancing national development priorities.

NRF extends its appreciation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and all partners for organizing this impactful summit. The Fund remains dedicated to championing research that transforms Kenya’s agri-food systems and contributes to a sustainable future across the continent.
